Tangy BBQ Sauce

This all purpose BBQ sauce works on all kinds of meats. It is somewhat sweet but has a nice tang and depth of flavor to it. We use it on grilled or baked chicken wings, smoked brisket, pulled pork shoulder sandwiches, grilled burgers, and on grilled chicken. Its very versatile and goes with anything.

TIPS: Instead of using beef broth mentioned below, if you have 1/2 cup of defatted drippings from the meat you are cooking (such as a pork shoulder or brisket) you can use that for an even better flavor.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 C ketchup
1/4 C molasses
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
3/4 Tbsp hot sauce (such as Franks or Texas Pete) (use more or less to taste)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 C beef broth OR defatted meat drippings

Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl. Serve immediately or refrigerate, covered, for up to 2 weeks.
